About Myall Lakes

Rigpa has held 20 retreats at Tiona Park, between the shores of Wallis Lake and the Pacific Ocean in NSW, Australia. It is approximately 4 hours drive north of Sydney, 2 hours drive north of Newcastle and 20 minutes south of Forster.

The Myall Coast is a very special part of the Great Lakes which begin at Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest. They contain vast areas of picturesque lakes, unpolluted, uncrowded, never-ending stretches of surfing beaches, over 1000 square kilometres of National Parks, seven State Forests and a natural eco system.

One million visitors visit the Great Lakes each year, for recreation and relaxation, enjoying over 145kms of coastline from Tuncurry in the North to Tea Gardens in the South, including Myall, Smith’s and Wallis Lakes.

Tiona Park also forms part of Pacific Palms, offering three beaches popular with surfers and families – Elizabeth, Boomerang and the famous Blueys Beach.
